Terms & Conditions
Last updated: September 20, 2026
These terms govern your use of Scott Screening & Lab Solutions' mobile phlebotomy and specimen collection services. Please read them carefully before booking a service or entering into a facility contract.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our website, booking a service, or using any service provided by Scott Screening & Lab Solutions ("we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
These terms apply to all users: individual patients, facility partners, healthcare providers, laboratory partners, employees, and visitors to our website.
2. Service Description
Scott Screening & Lab Solutions provides professional mobile phlebotomy and specimen collection services across Jamaica. Our services include blood collection, urine collection, specimen collection, specimen transport to partner laboratories, and related logistical services.
Important: We are a collection and transport service. We do not perform laboratory testing ourselves. All testing is performed by our partner laboratories. We are not responsible for the accuracy, timeliness, or results of laboratory testing performed by third-party laboratories.
3. Booking & Appointments
Appointments can be booked through our website, patient portal, facility portal, or by contacting us directly. When booking, you agree to provide accurate and complete information including your name, contact details, and any relevant medical or ordering provider information.
Appointment times are estimates. While we strive to arrive within the scheduled time window, factors such as traffic, weather, and prior appointment delays may affect timing. We will communicate any significant delays as promptly as possible.
A valid lab order or requisition from a licensed healthcare provider may be required for certain services. It is your responsibility to ensure the requisition is available and accurate before the collection visit.
4. Facility Contracts
Facility partners (nursing homes, care facilities, assisted living, healthcare facilities) may enter into service contracts with us. Contract terms, including service frequency, pricing structure, payment terms, and cancellation provisions, are governed by the individual contract signed between the facility and Scott Screening & Lab Solutions.
In the event of a conflict between these Terms & Conditions and a signed facility contract, the terms of the signed contract shall prevail for that facility.
5. Payment & Billing
Service fees are quoted in Jamaican Dollars (JMD) unless otherwise stated. Payment terms vary by service type: individual services may require payment at the time of booking or upon collection, while facility contracts follow the billing terms specified in the contract (e.g., Net 30).
Invoices for facility services are issued according to the contracted billing cycle. Overdue invoices may be subject to payment reminders and potential service suspension. Please refer to our Cancellation Policy for information about cancellation and no-show fees.
Our service fees cover specimen collection and transport only. Laboratory testing charges are billed separately by the partner laboratory and are not included in our service fees unless explicitly stated.
6. Patient Responsibilities
To ensure a safe and successful collection, patients agree to: provide accurate personal and medical information; follow any pre-collection instructions (e.g., fasting) provided by their ordering provider; present a valid photo ID when requested; ensure a safe, clean, and well-lit environment for the collection; and disclose any relevant medical conditions that may affect the collection (e.g., bleeding disorders, allergies, difficult veins).
7. Specimen Handling & Transport
We follow industry-standard protocols for specimen collection, labeling, storage, and transport to maintain specimen integrity. Specimens are transported to the designated partner laboratory within appropriate time windows and temperature conditions.
We are not liable for test results affected by factors beyond our control, including but not limited to specimen degradation after delivery to the laboratory, laboratory processing errors, or pre-existing specimen conditions.
8. Limitation of Liability
Scott Screening & Lab Solutions is liable for the proper collection and transport of specimens as described in these terms. We are not liable for: laboratory testing errors or delays by partner laboratories; misdiagnosis or medical decisions made by healthcare providers based on test results; adverse reactions to blood draws that could not reasonably be anticipated; or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Our total liability for any single service is limited to the fee charged for that specific service.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, service names, and design elements, is the property of Scott Screening & Lab Solutions and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without prior written permission.
10. Confidentiality & Privacy
We handle all personal and health information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you consent to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in that policy.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue services to any individual or facility that violates these Terms & Conditions, fails to pay for services, or engages in abusive, threatening, or fraudulent behavior. Facility contracts may be terminated according to the cancellation terms specified in the signed contract.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
